Swine flu claims two more lives in Odisha; toll reaches 7

Cuttack: As many as three persons died of swine flu in Odisha taking the toll in the disease to seven.

A person undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital here for swine flu succumbed to the disease late last night, informed swine flu nodal officer of the hospital.

The deceased was identified as Bijay Sahu, hailing from Tirtol area in Jagatsinghpur.

Similarly, Jalandhar Meher, a resident of Bargarh, died of swine flu during treatment at VIMSAR in Burla today. Besides, one more patient hailing from Bargarh succumbed while undergoing treatment at SCBMCH today.

On the other hand, a lady resident doctor of Transfusion Medicine department of the hospital has tested positive for swine flu.

Yesterday, as many as 24 samples were sent for investigation of which 13 tested positive taking the total number of H1N1 virus affected to 84 in the state.

Today, 12 more samples of 30 tested positive taking the number of affected to 96.
