Bhubaneswar: In a shocker for the fans of Odisha’s singing sensation Satyajeet Jena, who won the hearts of one and all with his mesmerizing performances at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs aired on Zee TV, the chotte ustaad quit the show saying that his voice is undergoing a transformation phase.

Satyajeet’s move left everyone in the show, including the judges and juries, shocked while many others were moist eyed.

As Aditya Narayan, the anchor of the show, was about to declare the contestant to be eliminated this week, Satyajeet’s father stood up and announced about the decision of quitting the show.

“His (Satyajeet) performance is not upto the mark from the last 2-3 weeks and he is getting less marks. He is also feeling pain in his throat after singing for a long time. Judges also opine that his voice is undergoing change for which he wants to quit from the show,” his father said.

However, his father hinted that he will return to the show in future.

“He will have a break for 2-3 years. He will practice for low nodes and return to participate in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs competition for seniors,” his father said.

“It’s a matter of sorrow for us that we are losing a great singer. However, we respect your decision of quitting as Satyajeet is going through a changing phase and putting stress on his voice won’t be good for his voice in future,” said judge Himesh Reshammiya.

“We salute you for taking such a big decision for the betterment of Satyajeet,” said judge Javed Ali.

Judge Neha Kakkar, who had always been an admirer of Satyajeet, requested him to wrap up his journey with performing ‘Mile ho tum humko‘– the song with which he had given audition.

Satyajeet, who returned Odisha yesterday, was felicitated by a team of Kanak News, our sister concern, at Bhubaneswar railway station.

“I decided to quit the show as my voice is undergoing change. Doctor had advised me not to put stress on my voice. However, I will continue singing and wish to be good singer in future,” he said.
