Former Rajya Sabha MP and founder of Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) Pyarimohan Mohapatra, who passed away in Mumbai last evening, will be cremated at Satya Nagar crematorium here today.

Mohapatra’s body will be brought from Mumbai to Bhubaneswar in Air India Flight 669 and is scheduled to reach the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here at 1.45 PM.

Notably, Mohapatra passed away at the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai at about 9.40 PM last evening. He was 77.

The bureaucrat-turned politician was put on ventilator support since Friday morning after his health condition deteriorated.

Mohapatra was undergoing treatment in Mumbai since last six months. First he was undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital and later at Hinduja Hospital. He was detected with a malignant tumor in lungs.

Mohapatra had undergone two surgeries after he was detected with a malignant tumor in his lungs. He was also administered chemotherapy for the ailment.
