Bhubaneswar, Mar 20:
The Nandankanan Zoological Park on the outskirts of Odisha capital is all set to welcome new guests soon.
The new guests including five Swamp deer commonly known as Barasingha deer, two male Gharial crocodiles and some grey cranes are likely to arrive this evening.
According to reports, a five-member team that had headed to Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Gardens on March 15 in Lucknow to bring the new guests are arriving here in the evening.
In view of failure of reproduction rate of Barasingha deer and decline in male Gharial crocodiles, the administration has decided to increase their population at Nandankanan through exchange programmes.
As part of the exchange programme, officials of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Gardens had taken two male beers and one India bear from Nandankanan on March 3.
