Four minor girls from Odisha rescued in Delhi

Four minor girls of Keonjhar district were rescued by Child Welfare Committee from Delhi yesterday.

Among 12 girls victim of human trafficking, four were rescued and search operation is underway to trace the whereabouts of the remaining girls.

The girls have been brought back to Keonjhar.

According to reports, a broker identified as Ranjan Sanagi of Somgiri area under Harichandanpur block in Keonjhar had sent 12 girls from Nipo village of Kuanr panchayat under Bansapal block of the district alluring them of job at a factory in Bhubaneswar.

However, they were brought to Delhi where they were allegedly assaulted physically and mentally.

The family members of the victims approached the district collector after failing to get any information about them and the broker did not receive their calls for past eight months. With the combined effort by district child welfare department and labour department, the four out of 12 were rescued from Delhi.
