Promising Odisha sprinter Dutee Chand was felicitated by KIIT University in the Odisha capital on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder, KIIT & KISS, hoped that Dutee will win the medal in Olympics and make India, Odisha and KIIT proud.
It may be mentioned that the Court of Arbitration for Sports in Switzerland had recently allowed Dutee to take part in the Asian Championships, while pending a final decision on her appeal against IAAF’s hyperandrogenism policy.
On the eve of Utkal Diwas, a special function was organized in KIIT where Dr Bimalendu Mohanty, former vice chancellor, Utkal University of Culture, Dr Sasanka Chudamani, Editor, Viswamukti, R N Dash, secretary, KIIT & KISS, Prof PP Mathur, vice chancellor, KIIT University and Dr Sasmita Samanta, Registrar, were present.
