The Odisha government today issued notification on the appointment of 1978 batch IAS officer Gokul Chandra Pati as the new chief secretary of the state.
The notification was issued by the General Administration department.
Pati, who would be the 41st chief secretary of Odisha, is likely to take charge of his new assignment on August 1, official sources said.
Besides, the state government also made a minor reshuffle at the top IAS level.
1983 batch IAS officer and additional chief secretary, Finance, Upendra Nath Behera has been given the additional charge of additional chief secretary, Home.
1985 batch IAS officer and principal secretary, Home, Vipin Kumar Saxena has been appointed Special Resident Commissioner in New Delhi – a post he held earlier- while 1998 batch IAS officer and RDC (Central division) SK Vashisth has been allowed to go on Central deputation.
Sources said Vasisth is likely to be posted as private secretary to Union Tribal Affairs minister Jual Oram. However, there has been no official order to this effect as yet.
