CAG report tabled in Odisha Assembly; pegs revenue loss at Rs 6195 cr

Bhubaneswar, July 28:

Odisha Finance minister Pradip Kumar Amat today tabled the CAG report on Revenue, General and Social Sectors for the year 2013 in the Odisha Assembly.

Comptroller-and-Auditor-of-General-CAGThe CAG report has put the state government’s revenue losses by way of VAT, Central Sales Tax, entry tax, motor vehicle tax, land revenue and stamp duty and royalties on minerals at Rs 6195.38 crore.

In its report, the CAG has indicted the state government for its failure to successfully implement the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scheme in the state. Failure in preparation of proper plans at the state, district and block level before its implementation has resulted in its failure, the report said.

Moreover, failure in constitution of Gram Kalyan Samitis (GKSs) at the village level has resulted in a loss of Rs 18.52 crore of central assistance to the state, the report said.
