Rains over most of Odisha; more to follow in next 72 hours

Bhubaneswar, July 27:

Most parts of Odisha today received moderate to heavy rainfall under the influence of a low pressure.

Rain in cuttackPhulbani recorded the highest rainfall in the state in the last 24 hours with 110 mm.

Rainfall in other places during the period was 18.8 mm in Baleswar, 25 in Chandbali, 57.6 in Cuttack, 54.9 in Puri, 16.6 in Angul, 20.6 in Baripada, 30.4 in Keonjhar, 31 in Sambalpur, 14.7 in Hirakud, 26.4 in Bolangir, 19.2 in Titlagarh, 20.6 in Malkangiri, 63 in Sonepur and 54 in Dhenkanal.

The capital city recorded 9.5 mm rainfall.

The local Met office, in a release here this evening, has predicted widespread rainfall in most parts of the state with heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in the coastal, south and north Odisha in the next 72 hours till August 1 after which the rainfall in the state will decrease.
