Bhubaneswar, Sept-24:

Dissatisfied over the police investigation into the murder of M Pharma student Manmohan Pradhan, who was killed by a group of goons during a brawl near Chintamanishwar temple on August 19, the parents of the deceased, along with the State unit of All India Democratic Youth Organisation and Student-Youth Action Committee of Delanga of Puri district, on Tuesday organised a protest rally here and demanded immediate handing over of the case to CBI and Rs 50 lakh compensation to the family members of the deceased student.

Holding banners and placards, a large group of supporters took out a rally from Master Canteen square to lower PMG square demanding justice for the deceased family.

“Miscreants killed my son brutually. Even though a month has already elapsed into the murder, the Commissionerate police are yet to nab the main accused. How do we trust on the police for justice?”  theasked father of the murdered student Mitu Kishore Pradhan, demanding a CBI probe into the murder.

The protesters led by Student-Youth Action Committee president Lenin Mohanty submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister highlighting their demands and urged him to ensure immediate arrest of the other two main accused and to handover the case to CBI for impartial inquiry to unearth the exact reason of the murder.
