Bhubaneswar, Nov 22:
10 meritorious students, 5 each from BPUT (Biju Patnaik University of Technology) and KIIT (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology) University will receive POSCO TJ Park Foundation Scholarship for the academic year 2013-14, a company press release said today.
The students who have been awarded the scholarship this year are Prerna Sharma, Elina Mishra, Sunil Kumar Padhi, Alka Agarwal, Sonu Agarwal ( all from BPUT ), Chandresh Kumar Mahajan, Rohan Nandi, Neha Sanganeria, Munmun Chakraborty and Karan Khandelwal ( all from KIIT ).
The release quoted Foundation’s Executive Vice President Woo-In Lee who awarded the scholarship to the students today as saying “The POSCO TJ Park Foundation has been focusing on developing international scholarship programs in Asia, under the name of POSCO Asia Fellowship…India is recognized worldwide for its huge pool of intellectual manpower. I strongly believe that if proper opportunity is given to these sprouting leaders, then India will achieve even higher heights in the years to come.”
Briefing newsmen on the proposed integrated steel project in Odisha Posco India DMD Mr. Ho-Chan Ryu said “this year Posco has been able to achieve significant progress in its Odisha ISP Project. Also, we have commenced operations of a high-quality automotive steel mill in Maharashtra, last year.”
Posco has been offering the annual scholarship every academic year in Odisha and Delhi, including Delhi University, Utkal University, OUAT and the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) after it announced its integrated steel project near Paradip port, the company release said.
