One person has been killed and five others have been injured in a post poll violence that broke out this morning as two rival political groups clashed today at Badadiha village in Odisha’s Kendrapara district.
Three of the injured who were in critical condition have been shifted to a hospital in Cuttack for better treatment, reports said.
District Superintendent of Police Rabi Narayan Behera said a clash broke out between the supporters of BJD and the Congress in Aul area of the district Friday night.A middle aged BJD supporter succumbed to his injuries while four activists of the same party were hurt, he said, adding, investigation was on to find out the exact cause of the clash.
Tension prevails in the area despite clamping of section 144 CrPC in the entire Kendrapara district.
In a separate incident at Bhadrak three persons including two women of Rahanja Baisa Sahi have been hospitalized following post poll violence today, reports said.
